reVive // Guided Retreat Day
Preparing for Easter – The Way of the Cross: Mark 8:27–38

Rooted in Scripture. Room to breathe.

“Most of us have more good teaching in our heads or our notebooks than we’ve had time to absorb.

reVive retreats are different. Each day is built around three sessions that go deep into Scripture – sitting with the text long enough to let Christ speak through it. Around them though, we build in genuine space: for reflection, for quiet, for the kind of processing and conversation that actually changes things.

The goal isn’t more content. It’s knowing ourselves more honestly and Christ more clearly, that we might love him more and be more deeply shaped into his image”

As we move toward Easter, Jesus turns toward Jerusalem and begins to speak plainly about the way of the cross. In Mark 8, He asks His disciples a searching question: “Who do you say that I am?” From that moment onward, discipleship becomes inseparable from surrender, sacrifice, and the call to follow Him more deeply.

This guided retreat day will focus on Mark 8:27–38 through three short reflections exploring the identity of Christ, the cost of discipleship, and the paradox of losing life in order to find it. These are challenging yet life-giving words, inviting us to lay down our striving and rediscover the heart of the gospel.

The day is designed around spaciousness rather than activity. Between reflections there will be extended time for silence, prayer, walking, reading, and quiet contemplation within the peaceful setting of the Manor. Our hope is to create an environment where participants can slow down enough to hear again the voice of Christ amid the demands of ministry, leadership, and daily life.

As Lent invites us to repentance and renewal, this retreat offers space to journey more attentively with Jesus on the road toward the cross and resurrection.

Come and follow Christ afresh on the way of the cross.
