We welcome applications from academics who seek to spend up to an academic year in residence with us pursuing their research agenda, who share our vision for scholarship that is both academically rigorous and faithful, and who want to contribute to the intellectual community at Yarnton Manor.
We offer self-catering accommodation for Christian scholars on sabbatical and research leave.
During your time at Yarnton, you will have access to our research facilities, including the growing theological library and shared workspaces, and you are invited to participate in the academic and community life of the Manor. Your residency is part of our ongoing mission to support global theological scholarship and foster intellectual engagement across disciplines and traditions.
Please fill in the form below to enquire.
We adopt a gathered field approach to our residency applications.
For residency in academic year 2026-2027, please submit your application no later than 31 October 2025. Given the demand for our accommodation, applications submitted after this are unlikely to succeed. We expect to be in touch with application outcomes no later than the end of November (2025).
Our residency stays are for Christians working in academica across disciplines who want to engage with a scholarly community and be encouraged to use their expertise for the good of the world and the honour of Christ.
We have up to five self-catering units, of 2-3 bedrooms, available for visiting scholars, which enables academics to be accompanied by spouses and/or other family members. As well as inviting spouses and other family members who may themselves be academics, we warmly welcome those who have other giftings and who would benefit from time away.
Accommodation for sabbaticals and other research-focused visits is standardly available from early September until late June, but not during the summer months.
It is outside our charitable remit and mission statement to provide an Airbnb style service for people visiting Oxford and the surrounding area for leisure/business trips.
