Spring Family Open Day 2026
A day for all the family on the first May bank holiday Monday.
Bring your picnic blanket and a picnic, relax or join in with some garden games and activities, and take a guided tour of the Manor House.
Open Days are a chance for the wider community to step inside and experience what is going on at Yarnton Manor, as well as getting a glimpse of its history & heritage, and current life.
Visitors will be invited to explore the historic house, 17th-century gardens, and newly restored spaces, while also learning about the Manor’s role today as a centre for Christian hospitality, study, and community. Guests can tour the grounds, discover the Lanier Theological Library, and meet members of the resident community. These days not only celebrate the Manor’s rich heritage but also share its vision of serving churches, equipping pastors, and supporting Christian academics in Oxford and beyond.
Spring family celebration and public open day.
Free flow use of gardens with space to bring your own picnic. Some refreshments will be available (TBC).
Bookable tours of the Manor and library on a first come, first served basis for groups of up to 10 at a time, on the hour and half hour. Book on arrival.
We will also have a children’s activities as well as garden games (including croquet and boules) for the whole family to enjoy.
Disabled access: The library and Manor house are both wheelchair and pushchair accessible with lifts and ramps. We suggest leaving pushchairs outside if possible. Access requires using a slightly different route to avoid two steps up to the front door and assistance from a member of staff to operate internal ramps. The main front and back Manor gardens are also accessible but following the garden trail through the kitchen garden and orchard may be difficult for wheelchair users with rougher ground and grass paths. There is disabled parking for two cars and further parking within 50m of the main door. There is no hearing loop or sign language available. Assistance dogs welcome on a lead at all times
Toilets available (including disabled access)
Limited parking onsite. A short walk from the S3 bus route
