The Lanier Theological Library at Yarnton Manor, housed in the Manor’s 17th-century tithe barn, is a non-lending library designed to serve the resident community and wider academic network. Following recent renovations commissioned by the Lanier Foundation, the historic structure now holds space for 30,000 volumes on theology, apologetics, and ministry, alongside study carrels, intimate reading areas, and outdoor visiting spaces. The library also features a dedicated children’s section and collections from leading scholars, including John Warwick Montgomery. In association with Oxford University’s libraries and academic community, it offers a place where scholarship and faith meet, blending the Manor’s rich history—its house dating back to 1611—with thoughtful modern craftsmanship to support study, dialogue, and Christian community life.

Our librarian is busily at work cataloguing the many boxes of books and journals now finding their place on the new shelves. As this careful process continues, we are not quite ready to welcome outside visitors just yet, but look forward to opening the library more fully in due course.
