reEquip is a monthly opportunity for those in pastoral ministry to connect and be taught / encouraged in their ministry positions.

The statistics relating to pastoral ministry burn-out is high. Too high.
For many the life of church or para-church ministry can be stressful, busy and, very often, lonely.
The to-do list can be overwhelming and unending, leaving little to no space for any kind of self-study or growth – often we feel out of our depth. Often we feel like calling it quits.

In 2024 we’ll be starting a new initiative – reEquip – that seeks to support and encourage those in pastoral ministry.
We’ll be inviting some excellent practitioners to give input on live issues – you’ll come and

(1) receive focused teaching and training that will help us in our ministry life, whether in pastoral skills, practical ministry, bible teaching or areas of theology,
(2) enjoy the company of and learn from others in similar situations and
(3) enjoy a delicious lunch together!

Upcoming dates:

31st May – “Power for Christian Flourishing” with Mark Meynell

Register here

Mark is an Anglican Minister and author who has thought deeply about this incredibly pertinent topic for this cultural moment. In the midst of a number of bad examples, what it mean to lead in a way that is Christ-like, not ‘lording it over’ those whom we have the privilege of leading and serving?

27th September – “The Anxiety Epidemic” with Steve Midgley

Steve is one of the Ministers at Christ Church Cambridge, the Executive Director of Biblical Counselling UK and a trained psychiatrist. He’ll be helping us to both understand and minister to the growing number of people who struggle with anxiety.

25th October – “The Air We Breath” with Glen Scrivener

Come and consider how the teachings of Jesus not only turned the ancient world upside down, but continue to underpin the way we think of life, worth, and meaning. Far from being a relic from the past, the distinctive ideas of Christianity, such as freedom, kindness, progress, and equality, are a crucial part of the air that we breathe. Glen will be coming to join us to think about how these realities shape Christian ministry.

29th November – “The Genius of Jesus” with Peter Williams

Dr. Peter J. Williams is the Principle and CEO of Tyndale House, Cambridge and will be joining us for the day to consider The Surprising Genius of Jesus. He’ll be taking us through some of Jesus’ extraordinary words with fresh insight and clarity, showing us not just what they mean, but what the words reveal of the one who spoke them.
